Consisting of: Dennis Sesonsky - vocals, Pete Pompura - Bass, Les Moro - Guitar and Lenny Krispinsky - Drums, The Pied Pipers first release is represented here. Wild frontman Dennis would later front Left End in the '70s.... more on that band in a later post.

i believe Dennis was also part of a group called the Soulsations prior to them becomming the LEFT END
ReplyDeleteYou all should probably remember that during their heyday the Pied Pipers also had Kenny Nash from East Palestine on rhythm guitar.

ReplyDeleteThe Human Beingz and Volume IV/New Hudson Exit were better live bands, but "Stay in My Life" is by far the best *record* to come out of that great Youngstown triumvirate of 1966-67.

Great times with these guys! Pete Pompura is my bro-in-law and was an influence for me as a kid musician. I got to hang out with these guys a few times and they were true rockers! Thankx Pete and all the Pipers Love this history
ReplyDeleteAny know of a Tom Adams from Youngstown who went to Ohio State and graduated in about 1970. I think he played with a band called the Pied Pipers....Any knowledge of Tom in this era and location?.I want to find out: rmderenzo@aol.com
ReplyDeleteTom Adams was the rhythm guitar player for the Pied Pipers. Many of their band practices took place in Toms basement on Kirk Road on west side of Youngstown. I know this because , as a friend of Toms brother, I sat downstairs on many occasions and watched them play. In fact I was there when Dennis auditioned to join the group. He sang "No where man" by the Beatles.
ReplyDeleteMy cousin Randy Garver took me to see The Pipers and Left End. Loved them both but being a drummer myself, must tell you Brad Naples was an early influence for me. We were living in Missouri and we visited my Grandpa's farm and family the Garvers on Market Street every summer. Excellent memories and thanks for this post taking me back so long ago!! I had a twelve year career with the band Mizzouri Foxx. KV
